Apples have been among the most popular and versatile foods for generations. Our ancestors ate fresh apples and dried apples, stewed, baked, and fried, in applesauce and apple butter. They made cider and vinegar, and used apples in various forms as preservatives and medicines.
Today we have varieties of apples which are delicious in pies, cakes, and cookies, as well as in salads, casseroles, side dishes, breads and beverages. It would be hard to find a person who didn't enjoy them!
This book contains 73 authentic old recipes which re-create the past and provide delicious memories to carry into the future. It also contains an Apple Guide, showing many of the varieties available today and how they are best used.
